Surprising Generosity

Philippians 1:20-30, 4:8-20
Give with a cheerful heart.

1. Smile, though your heart aches.

• “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice!“ - Philippians 4:4

2. Serve, though your calling is difficult.

• “Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.“ - 2 Corinthians 11:24-28

3. Give, though your resources are limited.

• ”God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8

Climb the Generosity Ladder

• Non-giver: I don’t give.
• Occasional giver: I give when it hits me.
• Intentional giver: I give consistently.
• Tithe-giver: I give 10%.
• Extravagant giver: I give sacrificially.
