TEXT - Matthew 7:13-29

OUTLINE

1. Disciples live like Jesus. 

• 1 John 2:3-6. (verse 6: Whoever claims to live in Jesus must live as Jesus did.)
• Matthew 28:16-20. (verse 20a: teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.)
• Matthew 5:48. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

2. Jesus obeyed. 

• John 5:30. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
• John 8:29. The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.
• Luke 11:28. Jesus replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.

3. Disciples obey - we hear AND do.

• John 14:15. If you love me, keep my commands.
• Matthew 7:13-29
